Jonathan Schimpf

Photographer & Creative Technologist

Photography has been my way of staying connected to the parts of myself that remain unchanged after brain injury — a bridge between who I was and who I continue to become. Through documenting overlooked moments, textures, and structures, I explore resilience, impermanence, and quiet persistence. My image 'Temporarily Broken' reflects the belief that being “broken” isn’t an ending, but a pause — a reminder that repair and movement forward can often coexist.

I think that street photography from years ago pairs well with a short two-line (couplet) poem for the greeting card use case:

Being broken isn’t the end — It’s a pause, not a stop. You don’t need to be completely whole to move forward. Just be willing.
