New Traditions
Making the Holidays Work for You After Brain Injury
A virtual workshop
Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026 at 7:00pm ET
The holidays don’t have to look the way they used to in order to have meaning.
The question “What are we doing for the holidays?” can bring excitement, but it can also bring memories, worries and a lot of pressure. After brain injury, familiar traditions may no longer fit your energy, needs or family life in the same way.
Join Hope Survives for practical ideas and compassionate conversation about the holiday season. Together, we will explore ways to plan ahead, communicate your needs, protect your energy and rethink traditions so the season feels more manageable - and more like yours.

What we’ll explore
decide which traditions matter most and let go of unnecessary pressure
plan for travel, gatherings and recovery time
communicate your needs to family and friends
adapt old traditions or create new ones that fit life as it is now.
You do not need to do the holidays the way you used to - or the way anyone else expects. Small changes can make the season feel more manageable, meaningful and your own.
People in the Hope Survives community have found creative ways to make the holidays work for their lives now.
There is no single right way to celebrate. During the workshop, we will use real-life examples to help you consider what could work for you and your family.
