When you are dealing with the overwhelming changes of a brain injury, it can easily feel like you are stuck in constant survival mode. There are so many changes in identity, dreams, and goals. So how do you move forward and find purpose? In this episode, Cristabelle sits down with Jackson Davis, who shares his powerful story of turning trauma into a deeper purpose. After surviving a catastrophic car accident that left him in a multi-month coma with severe physical and brain injuries, Jackson had to completely rebuild his life, reframe his goals, and discover what it truly means to endure - even becoming an ultra-endurance Ironman athlete.
We also feature a special spotlight with Dr. Ryan Harvey from The Functional Neurology Center on finding meaning during recovery. Dr. Harvey discusses the vital psychological shift from focusing on feeling "broken" to intentionally making yourself whole again, and how a purpose-driven perspective can actively build your neurological resilience.

Meet Our Guest
Jackson Davis
Hi, I’m Jackson Davis, founder of Built to Endure 40 “BTE40”. My life changed after surviving a traumatic car crash that left me with a traumatic brain injury and forced me to let go of my dream of serving in the Marine Corps. I went through a long road of physical, mental, and identity recovery, learning how to rebuild my life when everything I thought my future would be was gone.
Through faith, discipline, and endurance training, I found purpose in the pain. What started as fighting just to get better turned into pushing my limits, eventually completing a multiply Ironman 70.3 and using my journey to encourage others. Today, I share my story to bring hope to people battling setbacks, brain injuries, depression, and hard seasons of life. My mission with Built to Endure 40 is to remind people that what they’re going through isn’t the end of their story, it’s building the endurance, character, and faith they’ll need for what they’re called to do.
