This week, Cristabelle is joined by Rebecca Quinn & Carly Endres from the North Dakota Brain Injury Network for a conversation about emotional dysregulation as it relates to brain injury. We cover some common "tells" including outbursts and overstimulation, the cognitive behavioral spiral, the importance of mindfulness, and encouragement for both caregivers and survivors.
Meet Our Guests
Rebecca Quinn has served as the program director for the North Dakota Brain Injury Network for the past 15 years. NDBIN has been working throughout North Dakota toward raising awareness of brain injury prevention. NDBIN staff provide information through outreach and education, referral services, peer support, and more. Rebecca is honored to be able to work with others so passionate about brain injury and in her spare times she enjoys knitting and watching her cats watch squirrels.
Carly Endres is an outreach coordinator for the North Dakota Brain Injury Network at the Center for Rural Health at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences. In this position, Carly works on developing, implementing, and managing program initiatives for NDBIN, as well as developing, promoting, and implementing NDBIN educational activities. Carly previously worked with Grand Forks Public Schools as a special education strategist in the Intellectual Disabilities Program at Schroeder Middle School. Originally from Grand Forks, North Dakota, Carly earned a bachelor of science degree in elementary education and master's degree in special education at UND. In July 2019, she became a certified brain injury specialist. She is
currently pursuing a doctorate in educational practice and leadership with a specialization in special education at UND.
