Professional Experience:

With over 12 years of experience in the field of brain injury rehabilitation, Patricia Shutt is a dedicated advocate for person-centered care. Beginning her career as a direct support professional at Success Rehabilitation Inc., Patti advanced to her current leadership role as a Neurocognitive Program Instructor and Student Co-Op Supervisor. Since earning her Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) certification in 2012, she has specialized in enhancing clients’ cognitive abilities through tailored rehabilitation plans, ensuring meaningful progress along the continuum of care. Patti earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communications and Public Relations from Southern New Hampshire University, further solidifying her expertise in effective communication and advocacy.

Relationship with Brain Injury:

Patti’s professional journey has immersed her in the challenges and triumphs faced by brain injury survivors. Her hands-on experience has cultivated a deep understanding of the complexities of recovery and the importance of individualized support, enabling her to advocate effectively for survivors’ needs.

Passion for the Mission of Hope Survives:

As a founding board member of Hope Survives, Patti is driven by a desire to empower brain injury survivors and their families through education, resources, and community. Her experience working in the field of brain injury for 12 years has equipped her to be able to provide practical and emotional support for family and caregivers through facilitating our “Care and Connection” support group community with compassion and expertise. Her dedication to person-centered care aligns seamlessly with the organization’s mission, and she leverages her expertise to ensure survivors feel seen, valued, and supported on their journey to healing.
