I am a mixed media artist. I love all things creative and enjoy the experimentation and creative freedom that mixed media provides. Working in mixed media also means that basically any supply is fair game. I love all things vintage and incorporate vintage textiles, beads, buttons and old photos in my work. Treasured and Good
“Treasured and Good” was created by first using my favorite vintage ephemera as my first layer. Then a coat of white gesso was applied to push these fabulous goodies into the background a bit. Then I used ink and watercolor to make the arched window and the circles, both of which are common favorite subjects to use in my art. I was inspired to create “Treasured and Good” because I needed to remember that myself, as many of us often do. To me, this is my way of reflecting the theme of “Choosing Hope.” I often times will incorporate an inspirational quote or pick random words to use in my art as I did in this piece. I hope it inspires you too.
